Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

First post on the new zombie film COLLAPSE

Fellow zombie fans may have noticed that the most of the recent zombie films are mostly set in cities or suburban areas and have crazy fast, sprinting zombies. What ever happened to the good, old fashioned rural zombie attacks with slow zombies, like the classical Night of the Living Dead? The film COLLAPSE, which just wrapped up shooting in West Branch, Iowa, uses these classic ideas and applies modern special effects and make-up to produce a unique zombie experience.

Toby Sells is the Special Make Up FX Designer for COLLAPSE. Toby Sells was also the special make-up effects designer of Zombieland and has worked on seven other zombie films.

COLLAPSE is combining classic zombie movement with modern zombie looks. The COLLAPSE zombies are slow zombies like those found in Romero's films yet
have what Toby Sells called "a freshly dead" look, like that of recent
zombie films.

COLLAPSE follows Robert Morgan, played by Chris Mulkey (Saving Grace,
Cloverfield, North Country, Radio). Robert is a small town farmer whose
normal mounting problems get forced aside by a zombie outbreak. Robert
fortifies his home to protect his wife Molly, played by Karen Landry (Six
Feet Under, St. Elsewhere) and his son Will, played by Travis Slade
Reinders. As supplies run out, Robert is forced to fight his way through the
zombified town of Plains Falls.

At one point in COLLAPSE, Robert finds a zombie head a sink that is still
snapping. Robert attempts to drown the head by filling the sink with water,
but it floats and bobs on the surface. He tries to hold it under the water,
but since it doesn’t breathe, it has no effect. Robert names the head "Bob"
decides to take the zombie head with him instead of shooting it. He shoves a
sock in its mouth and stuffs it in a bag for easier handling.

I have been fortunate enough to have read the entire COLLAPSE script and even be a background zombie for COLLAPSE, see my profile pic, because I am interning for the movie. There are certain plot elements about COLLAPSE that I can't release because we want certain parts to be VERY surprising when people see it in theatres, but almost everything else is fair game so feel free to ask questions.

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game.
