YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
'The Hateful Eight' is in theaters now, and john q public is leaving the theaters with the sneaking suspicion old Quentin snuck a horror movie passed us in disguise. Many people are referring to it as a"…horror comedy along the lines of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead 2.” Which would apear to be the reaction all around. While the few others are comparing it to John Carpenter’s The Thing. Wich might make sense since the film makes use of unused cues from the eighty's scifi masterpiece. Wich work beautifully well along side the western.
All this has got people, and myself, wandering. What could Tarantino do if he actually went out full force on an honest to goodness horror movie. One that would no doubt scare the literal shit out of people so bad the theaters would have to give out complementary diapers at the ticket counters. It's not as crazy an idea as it might seam. Some might remember that Tarantino was in very early talks to write and direct Ultimate Jason for New Line Cinema, a Friday the 13th sequel that got the chop long before it could even pick its self out of a shallow grave. Then of course lets not forget that Death Proof, one half of the 2007 Grindhouse that old Quentin did direct. Of course the argument could be made that was more of an action-thriller title then a true horror film.
Perhaps the most damming evidence is an interview done recently with Time Out,Where it was made very clear the directors desire to make the jump into horror. But not just any horror film will do, but one inspired by perhaps the scariest film of all, The Exorcist!
“…if I had all the time in the world, I would love to make a really, really scary horror film, like The Exorcist. But I don’t know if me taking my sense of humor and putting it in the backseat just to hit a tone of dread from beginning to end is the best use of my talents or my time.
I don’t know if I could let go of that humor and be able to make something like The Exorcist and keep that tone of dread all the way through. Although a case could be made that The Hateful Eight is the closest I’ve ever come to a horror film. And more than any other Western, the film that influenced this movie the most is John Carpenter’s The Thing, way beyond just working with the same composer, Ennio Morricone, and star, Kurt Russell. The Thing also hugely influenced Reservoir Dogs, of course.”
I for one would be throwing money at my screen right now if if got this man to make a horror film. Tarantino’s appreciation for cinema and the craft of movie making is undeniable. I would love to see what his unique vision could bring to the genera. If nothing else we can be sure it will be the goriest movie of all time.

i can not express the amount to which i want this man to make a horror movie.
watched the hateful eight last night and god damn was it good. I can now personally agree with most people in saying that this is more of a horror movie then it was a western. And i totally got the 'Thing' vibe from it. This is how the remake should have been. No if only old Quinton will just give in and make an honest to good horror movie i can die happy.

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game.
