This is a zombie movie, but for the most part it isn’t.  Yes, the whole rationale is zombies, but it’s really a social commentary and a metaphor.  The metaphor could be Aids, race, or just the story of the “other” in our society.  The filmmakers try for subtly throughout and while that is it’s strength, it also blunts the overall effect, thus making the film lag in places.

The basic premise is that there was a zombie outbreak.  A cure was found, but it must administered within 36 hours or else the person will turn.  Plus it has to be continually taken or else the person will turn.  

The film follows a man and wife as they struggle in this scenario.  He was bitten and is infected.  She is a research scientist looking for a cure.  The government had been doing a good job of supplying the cure, but as the movie starts, things are starting to spin out of control and this couple has been caught up on the coming calamity.

While the film is a low budget movie, it doesn't look it at all.  In fact, it looks like most big budget features, so it doesn't look cheap. 

This film isn’t for everyone.  If you’re looking for a World War Z or Dawn of the Dead, then this film will disappoint.  To be honest, I found it intriguing, but also frustrating because it is slow in places and meanders.  There has some zombie gore, but this is more thriller than horror and there are times when it isn't all that thrilling.
