YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
so while researching for my zombie hunter con costume i fell in love with post apocalyptic cosplay. everything from fallout props to original works. it's just such a cool look and you can do anything with it. it requires little money if you know how to scavenge and helps prepare all of us for what it's gonna be like after they rise. i felt wickedzombies was a good place to bring this to help expand the site. so with all that in mind I'm going to be posting cool stuff i make and design here. and if you catch the bug or maybe if you already have it then i welcome you to post your stuff here too.

so i found out that that i was miss quoting it. apparently the correct translation is "If Heaven I may not move, on Hell I call". which sounds more serious and kinda cool but i like my original miss translation better. after all the apocalypse is no time for proper quotation.
"If Heaven I may not move, on Hell I call." I like that. tells your enemy they are really fucked if they run into you in a negative way. I like that better.
yeah it is good, damn now i don't know which one i like better :-[
yeah well i guess i can always use both. the real translation when i want to be somber and dark. and the misquote when i want to be more light hearted and funny.
so i like to add realistic details to my cosplay, its not all about guns a improvised weapons. some times its the simple realistic needs 0f a character that make the whole costume. and what do you need more then anything else in the post apocalyptic wastes. what can the human body only go three days with out. water, and of course a way to carry it. i'd originally planed to use the gi canteen but felt it needed a cover. so ever the one to make instead of buy i did a little google-fu for diy canteen covers. and the first thing that popped up was a great instructional on making your own waterskin. you know one of those old medieval kind of canteens made out of an animal stomach. well i already had one of these cheap collapsible throw away ones made out of plastic
like these only mine was already shaped like a waterskin the the distinct curve. so i followed the instructions and made an outside cover for it out some old jeans that don't fit anymore and the end result was this.
already having the plastic water skin saved a bit of work as the original plans also called for a plastic internal bladder. but one that was fashioned from a bottle top plastic ziplock and a cork. this makes for a stronger more reusable canteen that still has that apocalyptic look.
i once again used fishing line for the sewing and sewed from the outside to leave that hard apocalyptic edge. all and all I'm very happy with the look and it was worth the over two hours it took to hand sew the thing together.
now needing away to attach this to my belt the plastic canteen came with a carbineer and i just reused it. pocking a hole in the top corner of the material and putting it through. I'll need to weather it up a little some some fake grime stains and maybe even wearing away the fabric in places but I'm very happy with it at 90% thoughts anyone.
thanks I'm no seamstress, i dont know all the fancy stitches but i can work a needle and thread.
well i did a practical prop last so now here's a cool weapon one. an apocalyptic blow gun!
its your basic pipe blow gun only decked out to look like it was made in the apocalypse from scrap. which since it was made from scrap i had at hand it kinda is.
i used different kinda of tapes including medical, duck , and electrical as ornaments. the darts are made out bamboo skews cut to length with duck tape cones.
i also laid a strip of leather tied on with fishing line for a hand rest and finished up the decoration with inner phone wire.
if this part looks strange its because the blow gun is made out of an old broken trekking pole which gives it its best feature...
its telescopic expanding from 1 and a half feet to nearly 4 feet long and this isn't just a prop, its a functioning blow gun too.good for everything from hunting small gain to poisoning your enemy's. i'm thinking of calling it the whispering death, what do you think?
well i did a little target practice with this and i got say, it works awesome. this just might find its way from my prop bag into my bug out bag.
so to add a little detail to my costume itself and not just props i carry around i went ahead and made this tribal like neck less.
i had that bone for awhile its just a chicken bone. but i wanted to incorporate it into something. and when i couldnt find a way to do that i just made it the center of its own piece.
i made it into kinda like a cross with the bone and the screw. that phone wire for the cord and just to add a little more i did the two caps. one just a bottle cap and the other from a bottle of champagne left over form new years. I'll probably add more to it as i find interesting little odes and ends. i think I'll call it an "apocalyptic Rosary". yep thats what I'll do.

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
