Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

CB base unit

hand crank and battery power base unit

18 mile range hand crank and battery power hand radios

we as komradz have discussed all kinds of topics from zombie types to how to kill the zombie. but we seemed to have forgot a critical thing to any military outfit. COMMUNICATION! without this, we're blind. we cant tell about enemy advancments. we cant report back to base. we cant even keep in touch with supply raid teams. above are some good examples of communication gear. what is your recomendations on this?

these also come in the hand-crank variety.

Also, my walkies DO NOT talk to my mobile CB in the jeep. Neither seems to show up on my scanner. ( which is also AWESOME to have. I know everything going on in my neighborhood now!)
Keep in mind I know how to get them to work, but I don't have an in-depth knowledge of them.
We even use bird calls when were "out and about" but within earshot of one another. small, pocketsized, or worn around the neck. long call vs short call can be assigned a meaning, or number of bursts. http://audubonbirdcall.com/

for LONGER distance with no power, try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DC9w4KWEgJE
and YES I have one, and YES I can play it! It just takes a little practice, and if you want they can be made from PVC. Can be heard great distances away.

I believe that this might be quite helpful, though it is a bit pricey.
for base camp and outside base camp, my vote has always been these. they both run on both hand crank power and recharge base from an electrical outlet. they both send and accept signals up to 18 miles away though i doubt we will patrol parimeter that far away. the hand crank features can keep us with a powered way of communication till we get power in the compound. then when power is established, we can charge them from the power source. when we get power, then we can branch out to CB radios for further range communications and for supply raids.

when it comes to finding each otherwhat i recomend is that we as komradz make a list of all of us and where we are and keep it up to date. then when the zombie war happens, we still use the net as much as possable. meaning wireless net. dial up and dsl will go out when the phone lines do. wireless internet will be the very last thing to go out along with cell phones. failing that, i would say a CB raido. a komrad using this while mobile can reach out a good 20 to 30 miles with it. those of us who are less mobile can also use a CB unit as well because a statationary CB radio can reach about the same in distance. with each others exact location, the mobile komradz can use the CB radio to find the less mobile komradz with a base unit. and when in talk range, find them. truckers use these all the time to find each other everyday. but in order for this to work, we must be honest with each other and say where we live to each other. i been thinking of making a post for all komradz to post their names, addresses, and states they live in so the communication chain can be formed.
that is a good place to start. when it comes to outright location, we can appoint a komrad everyone can trust with the information. put it to a vote so all can decide on it.
i am not sure. i think it would be safe to ask vee this. by the way i second the motion.
Smoke signals are a form of optical telegraph. In other words, these messages can be sent over distances as long as you can see each signal. Smoke signals are sent by placing a cover (such as a blanket) over an open fire. After you make the fire, you can create a lot of smoke by adding handfuls of grass or green branches. By quickly lifting the cover for a short time, a puff of smoke will be sent up into the air. With training, a person can learn to control the puffs. People can learn to control the size, shapes, and time between puffs.
Smoke signals have been around for a very long time. They were first created by the Native North Americans and the Chinese. The Chinese used smoke signals along the Great Wall of China

i agree here. these can help with locating each other. and the CB can help tell the one being looked for when to use the smoke signal. flare guns also help in locating exact points to.
Flare guns, also known as ‘Very pistols,’ are plastic, brightly-colored guns that shoot flares intended for making signals, not for offensive or defensive use. Flare guns are shot directly into the sky to reveal the exact position of the user.

i only have knowledge of short range stuff. but as far as long distances go, i am afraid i am at a loss here. thats why i brought up this discussion to.
i been thinking about flares as a guide. i also been thinking of military smoke grenades because of the amount of smoke they let off. but this is a very good call joy. very good call.
very true. just an update though. mom decided last night she wanted to move closer in to the city. so she put the house up for sale today. but when we are moved, i will still make my house a safe house for us all.

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
