YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
so while researching for my zombie hunter con costume i fell in love with post apocalyptic cosplay. everything from fallout props to original works. it's just such a cool look and you can do anything with it. it requires little money if you know how to scavenge and helps prepare all of us for what it's gonna be like after they rise. i felt wickedzombies was a good place to bring this to help expand the site. so with all that in mind I'm going to be posting cool stuff i make and design here. and if you catch the bug or maybe if you already have it then i welcome you to post your stuff here too.

not yet that damn paint never dried. i have to grab a bottle of clear coat and hope that does the trick.
What kind of paint did you use?? I found out that when painting something, no matter what the material is, using automotive paint works about the best...Now I've heard people using an oven to help paint dry...But you have to be careful with that kind of thing....But I like using automotive paint and I've always just let the stuff bake in the sun for about three or four days...Works pretty good...
it's an oil based rust-oleum enamel it was the only thing they had in small cans at homedepo. and normally i would have but its been to cold here lately so i just left in my room and after over a week its still sticky to the touch. i think maybe i'll use an automotive clear coat on it.
part of the problem is you are painting a flexible rubber. the sealer will work. but being flexible it will crack and flake off. for the time and money. i wouldnt even bother with the paint job though i must admit it is very impressive. what you could do is call around and find out what paints work with rubber and what ones dont. just a suggestion. plastics plants would be a good start. they make stuff out of rubber as well as plastics. i used to work in one for 10 years so i know they do this. i just never thought of having to paint that kind of material though. so i cant help you there. wish i could though.
well i know oil based is good for rubber. and i was thinking of maybe using clear nail polish to seal it. and sure i didn't have to paint it but i like it and so there.
using nail polish has the same drawbacks as using any other sealer on rubber. the more it is used or folded. the more you risk cracking and flaking. i am not saying dont do it. that is your right to do so and from what you showed in pictures. it will look awesome. i am just saying that if you are going to. ask someone who has a plastics plant because they will know something that i may not being i have not worked one in over 10 years and as a result i am out of touch with that stuff. i mean other then some phone time. what have you got to lose from it? nothing really. but you got tons to gain if they do know something that can not only help with your mask project. but maybe other projects down the line and eliminate a lot of trial and error in the process. just a thought bro. seeing you were having the trouble. the thought of the plastics plant came to mind.
alright i'll look into it see if i can't dig some one up to talk to. but lucky from wearing the mask I've noticed that the part i painted doesn't really get folded a lot. and if it flakes off it'll just look more post apocalypticy. the great thing about this genera is the worse and crappy your props are the better they look.
it cant hurt but can help. lol. ;-)

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
