i really want to do the same thing to my crossbow, i just got the same crossbow for Christmas, and these seam like awesome modifications to make to it. if he posts plans for these I'll put them here otherwise it's up to me to reverse engineer this beauty.

this guy OVER THINKS things on some instances and not enough on others. for instance. he over thought the whole crossbow thing. the idea of the crossbow is not to go in like Rambo with an M60 machine gun. its for stealth. with that in mind. how fast it can be shot is a moot point. its getting past the enemy quietly and if need be, killing the same way. and when i mean not enough on others. its the distance he shoots at. its not very impressive to shoot off a rocket launcher standing right up on your target. anyone can hit a target standing right on it. he needs some distance. 20 yards is a nice distance. even 20 feet would be nice. when he can shoot with some distance and get the same results. i may be impressed. the only thing i can say he did that i liked was the bayonet idea.

i don't know man that faster reload time may mean the difference between life and death. i also like that you don't have to keep your arrows separate from the bow. now they're all together so less chance of losing them, or drooping the arrow as you try to load. no more having to take the bow off target to load. i think the idea of the magazine is great. yes i would like to see it shoot at a longer distance. but its far from a machine gun. he just took a single shot weapon and turned into basically a semi auto. or as close as you can come. I'll do some testing with mine before i make any mods. i'll even remove the fletching from some arrows so it will be just like his.

If you remove the fletchings on them. You make the arrow unstable. It won't fly straight. Plus he never showed how fast it is to reload the make shift arrow magazine. If you want a good example of a repeating crossbow. Look up the ones the Chinese made centuries ago. Way easier to load and use. Not very accurate. But easier to load and use.

not accurate is an understatement, and that version of the reloading mechanism makes the bow far to weak. they were barely 40 pounds. i have a pistol crossbow that twice that at one third the size. they were coated with tiger killing poison cause the bow wasn't strong enough to kill. not to mention that the non tensioned magazine often jammed. and while he didn't mention it in the videos i read the build forum on his web site and its basically you drop the bolts in. but in the magazine slide. strap the rubber bands on it and your ready to go. its the same magazine as his full auto pencil shooter, only you don't have to bother with the tape.

and yes removing the fletchings will effect accuracy but at the distances were talking about it's negligible. 20 yards is about the best your gonna get with these old kinda bows. i looked online and bow hunters all say with the old bows shots are taken at 15 yards. and i think thats good any further and it's not worth taking the shot. stealth is key to dealing with zombies. so only taking out whats directly in front of you will be the only way to go.

For a good bow. 15 yards is child's play. Last time I used a bow for hunting. I was taking down deer at 50 and 60 yards. But what you got to understand is if you so much as remove one fletching on an arrow. When you let it fly. It may clear the bow but will either fly to one side or the other after about 3 feet. And the farther you are from the target. The farther one way or the other it will go. So you won't get a head on hit past the very short distance he was shooting at. So if he removed any fletchings. He was lucky to be hitting anything. But the arrows I seen had all three fletchings on them. And if you are only going to take out the immediate lone zombie. Then you may as well leave the design as it is. Why risk messing up a good bow on his design when the distance accuracy is not even been proven yet? I mean let's face it. This guy has sponsors. He can afford to screw up a couple of dozen just to come up with the stuff he has. We are working stiffs. Do you really want to mess up a good bow trying to recreate his stuff? I wouldn't. So not worth it bro. So not worth it.

okay that guy does this as a hobby he's mot rich, just enjoys making crazy things. and these mods in no way destroy the bow. everything is easily reversible. in fact the only permanent mod is the drilling of two holes in the butt stock to mount the magazine hardly destroying it. and even if it did the thing only cost 70 bucks and i got it for 68 shipping included.

a hole drilled into something that didnt have that hole before weakens that area bro. i cant tell you how many times i had to order a new frame for a firearm because someone drilled into it and as a result cracked afterward from the pressures of a bullet load. i admit a crossbow is different and it may take longer for it to happen. but eventually those two holes drilled will cause a break there. and the type of bow he has. i have one to. but it was the second one i bought. the first one i got. i had a bright idea of some custom work on the stock to. required some drilling. so i did. 2 months later the stock broke where i drilled on it while cocking it. that broke me of ever drilling where its vital and what could end up having to stand to pressure. and be it $70 or whatever the price. thats money lost if the mod damages the bow in the end be it immediately or later down the road. now with what i mentioned about my bow breaking. ask yourself this. if my stock broke only after a couple of months use. how long will that modification he made actually last in a z-poc? the modification i made was just a carry method. a sling repositioning if you will. what he is doing totally effects the function all together. and when it is cocked. the stock is pressed into the chest. after so many cockings. how long will that stock last if mine broke only due to repositioning the rifle slings? if fortune smiles. i would say you would be lucky to have a years use during a z-poc with that modification on it. this second one i got? since i have not drilled into it. it has lasted so far about 5 years with no malfunctions. and like i said before. if stealth is the whole thing during a z-poc. why alter the design anyway? but if you insist on doing that modification. take some advice. at least find a way to contact the company that makes the bow for another stock. that way if the design mod does what i know most it will do. at least you will have another stock to fall back on to replace the broken one. a lot of what this guy does with rubber and zombies is sketchy at best to me anyway. but this hits into something i have had experience in and the whole thing screams bad idea to me.

well the good thing is i can build on his work improve the design. a hose clamp will do the same thing drilling into the stock would. that way i can make it even more interchangeable. if nothing else I'm gonna add the extended butt plate and rubber on the strings so you don't have to take it off target to reload. and i wish i could order a replacement but the company doesn't make them. in fact as far as i can tell the whole thing is one solid piece. the only thing they do sell is a replacement bow limb and that doesn't even come with the little plastic piece mine was missing.

better the hose clamps then the drill bro. when it comes to something your very ass may ride on. NEVER do anything that will compromise the strength of the item. if it involves drilling or anything invasive to it. never do it. its just a bad idea all around.

i think i can make those mods without doing any damage. I'm definitely doing the spike and the bayonet as well as a reel.you know so it can act as a harpoon gun too. i also have this idea about using the stun gun your sending me to electrify the arrows. it will basically be a crossbow tazer. so I'll need the reel for the wire. i am gonna pimp the hell out of this thing. by the time I'm done with it, this crossbow will be a complete zombie killing survival platform.

just call me green arrow, or hawk eye, speedy, Artemis damn their are a lot of hero's who use bows.

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
