Being ill never bodes well during a survival situation, whether you’re out in the wild, stationed at home, or walking through the ruined city streets after an apocalyptic grade disaster. Without the proper rest and treatments, something as simple as a few cold or flu symptoms: sneezing, coughing, aches and pains, fever, and general discomfort, could easily bring a survivor to their knees.
Homemade Cold and Flu Cure: The Cayenne Cocktail
Made with just three natural ingredients, you don’t have to worry about pouring any chemical sludge down your throat to start feeling better. Just mix this up, swing it down, and you should be on your way to full recovery… though a little rest helps as well.
Ingredients:
- 1-2 cloves of finely chopped or pasted garlic (fresh garlic is best).
- 1/8 – 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (whichever you can handle).
- 1 cup of orange or grapefruit juice (fresh squeezed is NOT needed. Warm water can be substituted if needed, though it does not work as well).
Though it might not taste great, it also isn’t that bad. The Cayenne Cocktail works best when consumed in one sitting. Combine the ingredients, seal your container, shake it well, drink it down, and let the Cayenne Cocktail do its job getting you on the road to recovery.
Whether it’s brought on by too much time in the wet and cold, a pair of unwashed hands, or another survivor forgetting to cover their cough, a glass of the The Cayenne Cocktail can help you get back on your feet again.
The Cayenne Cocktail has an unknown shelf-life and is best used immediately or within a 12-24 hour period. Mason jars are the easiest way to combine and mix the ingredients without a lot of hassle. This article and the Cayenne Cocktail are not replacements for professional medical advice.
