YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
AS I've said before in august i will be attending the monster-mania convention to meet George Romero the man himself. this being my first con i, going all out and attending in costume. with the help of some of you here I've decided to go as a zombie apocalypse survivor. so i will be posting photo's of my cosplay here, as well as asking questions. so far I've gone with a modified version of this outfit.
maybe with a fake filter installed this time if anyone knows how to make one i would be so thankful. right now i have an idea about using a soda bottle if the threads match. but i never turn down advise.
i'll also be keeping the Alice pack and maybe the tack vest minus the knife i'm not sure yet it's pretty awkward to wear. I'll also be adding some more things like my zombie shield the tombstone.
and this sweet shoulder arm guard i made a few years back.
and I'll add a few more touches as i think of them so what do you all of think of my costume so far opinions always matter here?

well i've been trowling the forum over at wasteland weekend' site looking for costume insperation and i gotta say if you want to make an apocalyptic costume their is no better place. the stuff they are doing over there i tell you, it's amazing. it really got me going so i took a look through my old clothes that don't fit me anymore and tried to see what i could take and make something completely unexpected out of. i wound up finding an old pair of jeans and i thought okay what could i use them for if i was fighting zombies. then it came to me. denim is a light yet extremely durable material. and that lead me to armor. now my shield arm is covered no rotters going to get through that protection. but what about my sword arm. with that in mind i made this.
it's a denim sleeve to protect my sword arm from zombie bites while still giving me complete range of motion to smash undead skulls with. i basically cut off a leg and then cut down the center so i could sew it to fit my arm with string closure on the top for looks and functions. for added protection i kept the cargo pocket stuffed it with a folded up piece of cardboard before sewing the pocket shut. acts as an armor plate.
i still need to whether it some more but i think it looks pretty good, so what do you guy's think yes or no on this. also for my shield arm i found this old bitten up work glove and added a few things to it. i think it adds both protection and style.
You can be a apocalyptic Taylor for all the masses!
thanks guess that means you like it. you know i always did like making costumes. when i was a kid i made a full length matrix coats for all my gi joes.
made another new part for my zombie hunter costume will post a pic soon. its a shine protector made up of cut sections of angel iron linked together it's pretty bad ass!will post pics tomorrow when the suns up. my phone camera sucks in anything but sunlight.
I have to give it to you for all the unique costume ideas.
i just make do with the scrap i have at hand. just like in a real apocalypse, the imaginative ones survive!
Great costume. I envy that you get to meet Romero.
I envy all the time and fun you are having getting ready for the convention.
yeah it is fun and watching the days count down on my calender, i feel like a kid at Christmas. just wish i didn't have to spend a hundred bucks getting their and back on the train. wish someone here was going too so we could car pool.
thanks rj and yeah meeting the man himself has to be on every zombie fans bucket list. hell we wouldn't have this wicked site with out him.

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
