YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
AS I've said before in august i will be attending the monster-mania convention to meet George Romero the man himself. this being my first con i, going all out and attending in costume. with the help of some of you here I've decided to go as a zombie apocalypse survivor. so i will be posting photo's of my cosplay here, as well as asking questions. so far I've gone with a modified version of this outfit.
maybe with a fake filter installed this time if anyone knows how to make one i would be so thankful. right now i have an idea about using a soda bottle if the threads match. but i never turn down advise.
i'll also be keeping the Alice pack and maybe the tack vest minus the knife i'm not sure yet it's pretty awkward to wear. I'll also be adding some more things like my zombie shield the tombstone.
and this sweet shoulder arm guard i made a few years back.
and I'll add a few more touches as i think of them so what do you all of think of my costume so far opinions always matter here?

first thing is i made a little modification to the tombstone just for this con.
i went ahead and added these little fake plastic fingers i had lying around to it, they were only dollar but they look pretty good.
the idea here is not only are they Daryl Dixon like trophy's of zombie kill's but they also act like camouflage. as we learned from the walking dead zombies differentiate between themselves and us based on the smell of decay. well as anyone who's ever let some old food spoil in their refrigerator knows a little rot goes a long way when it comes to smell. so i figure my character when confronted by a zombie would hold up his shield to the zombies face. it would smell the fingers and become confused just long enough for smash the rotters brains out.
i figured I'd also wear this cigar cutter around my neck to kinda pull the whole thing together and as a little tribute to one of the best villeins from one of my favorite movie franchises, DARKMAN. and if you don't know who I'm talking about then the names not buddy, its Durant Robert G. Durant.
so what do you think pretty cool right?
you are on a roll buddy. like it so far. i even like the Darkman quote. i been a Darkman fan since the first movie but i just love the last one. DARKMAN 3: DIE DARKMAN! DIE! it gave Darkman a more human side when he helped the child instead of himself with what was left of the perfected liquid skin. LOVED IT!
i know right and when he ripped out that pain implant chip, god that was so bad ass!
you gonna try what i recommended with the mask filter?
thanks but turns out my filter is still good so I'm gonna use it. thanks for the tip thought, good looking out.
now to go along with a shield you obviously need a weapon and after going through my extensive collection of redeadification tools i've narrowed down to two chooses based on con rules, common sense and what i can fit in an Alice pack. and I'm going to let you decide, do i go with the crowbar:
frankly i like them both. the crowbar has more uses and is a staple of the zombie genera. but the pipe is more like a wepon you find in the apocalypse and make do with. so what do you think?
i would go with both. they are both sweet weapons and represent weapons of opportunity and ingenuity.
yeah but i wanna cut down on weight i might not even take one cause i wanna film as much of my time their as i can. maybe I'll just wear one on my belt to bust out for special occasions i don't know. man i am so pumped i just wish it wasn't gonna cost me over a hundred bucks just to get there and back. only leaves with with 200 hundred for walking around money.
well if weight is an issue. go with the lightest one. also if you are wanting to be behind the camera a lot. then going with a tactical vest would be a great part of the costume. gives more storage options and keeps all the needed goodies close at hand to. you wont believe this. but being my state has both concealed and open carry. there are times i carry open using my tactical vest. that way i got my pistol close to me in a quick draw position and the other compartments act for storage of my wallet and other things to. a real sweet thing those are. lol.
yeah that would be good i don't have a load bearing system though just what they call a ranger vest, that I'm wearing in the first pic. it's more like what swat use to wear in 70 movies when they still had the blue shirts and caps. don't know if you know what i'm talking about. just has a lot of pockets and other stuff it's pretty nice.
oh i more then understand. i sell a lot of them in my state. guys that mow lawns for a living use them here for things they use on the job. i sold 10 of them to a lawn and landscaping business a few days ago. they may even buy more being they love them so much. plus guys that quit tend to take them with them to. lol. they are that popular here.

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
