In disasters time and time again it proves that the city is what consumes and kills the people. Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, Haiti Earthquake, Japan Meltdown, etc. All cities that were affected by a disaster had full evacuations for the most part due to the fact that food supply was cut off, waste in the streets were building up, crimes skyrocket, thievery, rape, murder, all sense goes out of the window in those that think they can weather a storm in the concrete jungle. You can't survive on what a city has to offer. Look at the Mayans, they were a thriving nation of people, then they started to modernize and expand and remove more and more greenery and they eventually fell, every last one of them, due to no resources because they got rid of them for more expansion. Cities are okay for now but as soon as SHTF, you better have an escape plan otherwise you will not survive. I would say if you aren't out in the first 48 hours then your rate of survival decreases drastically as every extra hour passes by.

Realistically how could the average joe escape a big city? You would have to be a doomsday prepper and have a bug out location secured and ready.

All you need really is a vehicle whether it is yours or stolen or even your own two feet would work. If you hoof it I would recommend having a gun and ammo with you and a stocked BOB. Once you are out of the city if you have access to a handheld HAM radio you could easily contact people that have encampments set up already that are accepting people. You don't have to be a big prepper or have a secured location. All you need is a BOB, wireless HAM radio, good boots, machete, knife, gun, ammo, and a way to drink water and you would be set. If you aren't prepared then prepare to not make it unless you have some serious skills and are quick to move. Your mindset would be essential as well in this situation.

Blacksmithing: Would be a good thing to learn the basics of so you can create your own weapons out of any metal you can scavenge after bullets run out. It would also be a good bartering tool when society would start to finally rebuild itself.

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
