Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

So, about two or more hours ago, maybe three, a movie came on. Zombie Apocalypse! A new SyFy movie that was probably pretty budgeted like quite a few of their custom movies made. I felt it was kind of just out there. Zombies seem to be taking over our movies, our games, our books, our televisions with new releases. Capcom has several games coming out. Books continue flooding in with the images of zombies killing and taking over the world. Our movies will always have at least three zombie flicks going on through the year with the way things are going. Television even has had it's own few shares of shows. The Walking Dead, for instance, and other minor little groups.

Thing is, Zombie Apocalypse does have some signature things that distinguishes itself from the herd. It, while having cheesy at times, effects, can deliver the little pieces where you just have to take in the situation and realize things can end up that way. Throughout the movie there are parts where people are thinking critically, as well as you realize that you would end up doing some of those things and others would be pulling off the same stupid stunts. A part in there I really thought was shitty, but also realize that some idiots might try doing it, was actually near the start of the movie. Two men attempt to force candy out of a machine by pounding on it and shaking it. The girl tells them to stop with the noise.

For us seasoned Zombie fanatics and theorists already know what will happen. Zombies. Lots and lots of fucking zombies. So the zombies come and here is something none of us would do, but once again the average person hasn't even thought zombies of. What this guy does is he stands still, dropping his shotgun shells on the ground. Then proceeds to shoot the zombies very slowly and a few shots are inaccurate. While all this goes on he picks up one or two shells from the ground every one or two shots. This of course leads to him getting mobbed by the massive group of zombies, and he is bitten repeatedly, only to have rescue come just a few seconds later.

Ridiculous, but it is realistic. An unseasoned zombie killer would do that. Another thing that bothered me, though, was that none of the people had already looked over the town before rushing into it. It was relatively small, appearing to have only a row of shops and maybe some housing. This means they were hit by the entire town population of thirty or so. Still, unseasoned means this would happen.

It's quirky, has a few sweet moments but also just has that feel that you can expect it to happen. No main love interest, though you see insight to a couple of would-be relationships. No direct main character, just survivors at their prime.

Enough of my rantings, though. I'd like to see if any of you saw this, and if not it is actually on right now, if only 57 minutes in. I believe it's a couple or few hours long so you won't miss all that much. Enjoy, and leave a comment below telling me just how this movie made you feel!

i loved the movie. had some nice kill shots and a couple of exploding heads here and there. as you pointed out. there is a lot of predictability to the seasoned zombie fan that makes one yell at the idiot about to die the words "STOP THAT YOU STUPID ASS! YOUR GONNA DIE IF YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!". lol. much like the scene with the candy machine. but the infected tigers were a really nice touch. LOVED THAT ONE for sure. lol. i also like the fact that the stinkers took the learning curve when it came to hunting their prey. something i feel they will do if the dead rise up and live to hunt long enough. i would love to have it in my collection. gonna check AMAZON.COM for it now.
I loved the tigers. At first I was curious as to what it was, and for a moment I really hoped they weren't trying to bring in something like a Tank, Smoker or Hunter from Left 4 Dead within the last twenty minutes of the movie. The tigers, though. That was just bad ass. I thought everything was good after the first one was gone and they would milk the last ten minutes with them preparing for the ferry to come. Little did I know that the last ten minutes of the movie didn't even have credits! It was just a second tiger coming out and doing some serious damage! Something you rarely see these days in movies. It's like they said 'FUCK THE CREDITS! LETS END THIS BITCH STRONG!' and I just kind of sat there in awe as I found I was wrong for once when it came to a zombie movie. Then I just smiled, laughed and shook my head, moving on to the next thing on TV. I would love to put this movie into my collection of favorites just because it was unpredictable, and could be used as a learning tool if anything. I should look for it, too.
I saw the movie yesterday too and it was good. It had some cheesy parts but the action made the movie worth watching. I was just not excepting the Zombie animals especially the big tiger LOL!
The first tiger just seemed surprising. Then the second one came out I was like 'What the fuck?! They just calmed down and a second one was waiting?!' So I just felt like that was wonderful. Something I do love about the movie is that they have such a sad touching moment when it comes to remembering the big guy at the end and the other guy in the van. Hell, even the guy at the start got a sad reception. But when it came to the Archery teacher, not one person cried for him. Made me laugh once I realized it.
You know you are right no one even notice he was dead they just keep sitting there and waiting. I wish they would have showed Catalina island and how the survivors had it set up. All in all it was a interesting tale of the Zombie Apocalypse.
A sequel would be nice. Or maybe a prequel of different survivors dealing with the outbreak from the start? I dunno. Maybe they'll have more funding if they get a second one out.

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
