Realistically, there is no point in risking my life to save my friend's if he's only gonna get himself killed shortly after me. As mean as it sounds, if I couldn't get him to snap out of it...I'd have to leave him behind somewhere so as not to taint the whole group. Someone like that is more cancerous to the cause than someone who is bitten. Now, you did say FRIEND. If this were family, I'd have a different answer for you.

I don't know what I think. I think I would be a really different person in that situation so it would depend. I can be sure the people I would have around me wouldn't stand for much of that from a non-family member though.

basically, I agree with this, at some point I would sit him down and explain to him, its time to get his head out his ass and get it together or else Im sorry but your gonna be on your own...

My best friend obviously hasn't been on wickedzombies.com!  In the end you have to teach your best friend how to behave during the outbreak.  Leaving everyone who is less skilled and trained than you might leave you by yourself.

as cruel as it may sound. i would have to say get rid of them and fast! no chit-chat. no coddling along. there will be no time for it. as pointed out before. things will be changing and at a very fast pace. you need everybody sound and frosty. anything less can cost lives. those you choose must be able to handle stress. able to think on the fly. and be utmost trustworthy of all you know. your life WILL depend on all these things and so will theirs. in my book. nothing less will do. everyone fights. nobody quits, mentally or emotionally. if you dont do your part. i will shoot you myself. and i would expect the same to be done to me. no exceptions.

If this person is so incompetent I do not think they would have survived a large-scale zombie invasion to the point that we are discussing. However if he did I would try to teach him and keep him safe. If he indeed screws up everything, chances are he will end up dead by pure accident or on his own. Life is harsh!  Life with a zombie invasion is even worse. Only the ones with a strong will to live, and a mindset to do so will survive.

but there are some people you just cant teach. if you end up with a person like that. can you do the hard thing? can you expel them from your group? hear them beg to be let back in? one has to be hard enough inside to do that. and thats not evolution. thats just plain survival.
