Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

OK. The cats outta the bag. Survival came out and I know some of you saw it. I just learned that its not being released on dvd stateside until 8/24!?  However, it is available in the UK as you read this?!  George is from Pittsburgh, so how and why were we bumped? I live in NY(one of the five bouroughs), and the movie played in a single theater in the East Village, Manhattan. I know it was slated for a limited release, but isnt that a little too limited? So what'd it make it to? Ten theaters nationwide? I believe some of the new concepts would have appealed to many fans, having been giving the opportunity to view it. The film was not marketed properly and will suffer as a result.

When the buzz hit(and it hit WZ hard) when the trailer dropped a lot of gas seemed to be building up. The limited numbers of Romero's ravenous legion of fans that got to see the movie had a very mixed bag of feedback. Some despised it, some dug it and others seemed indifferent. Did anyone love it?  I can honestly say that i liked it very much. Im a bigger fan of Land of the Dead but this movie was way ahead of his last outing, Diary of the Dead.

I dont wanna spoil anything for those who havnt gotten the chance to see it yet but would like to say a few things about what I felt were the strong points. This movie had some really interesting concepts. The setting of a desolate, rural island just got me from the start. And like all Romero Dead films, you can expect a decent amount of human conflict. This was approached from an entirely different angle that is truely a traditional type conflict that exceeds the violent raiders and military tyrant adversaries we have seen in the past films. Im not saying its better then the previous films in terms of human conflict, just something new. And all great film makers have to keep it fresh. Big Daddy in Land was a great follow up to Day's Bub zombie, in dealing with the undead growing more intelligent. But how smart can they get? Its been tapped. George has explored some new things and I'd love to know how you guys here at WZ feel about them.

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game.
