Winter

The air blew on my face was frigid and cold, it cut into my face like a knife and stayed there for the day. My ears were freezing I rubbed snow on them they were fine for a while after that. My hands were moist from the warmth of the gloves I took them out and cooled them off in the icy northern wind. I slipped them back in the mittens and started walking on the snow. Luckily I had a great pair of winter boots (L.L. Bean 16 inchers of course) and a great pair of Tubbs Snowshoes

I was heading towards Makinac Island I'd heard that the place was a fortress and was uninfected I figured it's better than watching Detroit turn to even more of a warzone and besides I'd gone to Mackinac and St. Ignace as a kid so it was familiar and the fishing there fucking rocked

I knew I was relatively close my car had run out of gas bout half way through Gaylord State Forest I was coming over this hill a very big hill when I got to the top there it was Mackinac Island in all it's glory....and all it's horror

There were black spots in the white snow I'm guessing from fires there were little dots on the ice those were the infected and there were a lot of them we're talking bout like a hundred thousand maybe more I thought "Whatever fort they did have here looks like it fell

Then I watched as this big group of them like 50,000 walking across the ice fall through due to the weight I knew it wouldn't kill 'em... well it might but it'd at least freeze 'em

My stomach growled I needed some food and maybe a car or something looks like I was headed down there into the wasteland
