Just got back from seeing WWZ.  Mixed feelings, but mostly positive.  With all the press about the making of the movie, I think I had basically had already accepted the fact that movie would not be like the book.  And it isn't.  It could be that the one thing they both have in common is they have zombies in them.  I know for some that will be disappointing, but I was prepared for it.

As for the movie, it's a nice adventure yarn.  It move along rapidly without too much down time and most of the situations make sense and add to the plot with exception of the commercial plane sequence which seemed add because a scriptwriter felt there hadn't been any action in the last 15 seconds.

All-in-all, I was pleased.

I saw a midnight show last night. Thought it was relentless and intense, and a refreshingly different take on the undead genre. Though a little more in the way of blood and gore would have been nice (maybe the eventual video release?), the immense hordes of zombies, the international scope and the investigative angle of the film made it an entertaining moviegoing expereience.
