YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

I have been going to horror konventions since 1991, when I was fourteen. Always being a huge horror fan, these konvention events quickly became something I loved and eagerly awaited. And I'm far from alone. I always enjoyed watching people have a blast and meet their film idols. I have traveled to many states to meet people of interest. I look at it as a hobby that keeps me sane in a not so perfect world. Enough about me.
One thing I have been forced to notice is the lack of volume that these konventions used to draw. I see great guests sitting at a table with their finger in their ass. People are just not getting out there enough and showing support. When I was a little younger, I made almost twice the money I make at my current job. So, no doubt its the money crisis/economic depression that a lot of us are feeling the crunch on, that is the culprit.
Thats why some guests at shows are charging $25 and higher for an autograph that should be $20. Its due to the lack of overall fans seeking signatures.
What I was forced to do was cut back on the number of signatures I get. If I know my budget is $150, then I concentrate on fewer, more wanted autographs. And try to refrain from buying any more DVD's. Thats the only way I kan make it out there these days.
But the moral of the story is, that we gotta at least make it out there and show some support. If not, you'll just see less and less kons being done, with shittier guests.
I'm not exactly sure how many members here attend konventions. I have a group titled the Horror Konvention Group, which lists upcoming shows all over the place. But I dont get much feedback from you guys, so I'd love to hear from you.

The main thing i hate about the kons here in texas ( at least for san antonio) is that I always seem to miss them by one day, or dont hear about them until there is no way I would be able to go. I kouldn't even tell you the last time there was a kon in san antonio or austin for that fact. I like how Komrad V posts things about lokal events here, i'm keeping my fingers krossed for an event close enough for me to head out to!

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
