Just like a horror movie, every second things turned worse. That church was too weird, everything was out of the ordinary. I entered the hallway slowly as I slowly pushed the door open. The hallway was simple and long, with nothing in it.
I walked slowly while I aimed my Bennelli M4 Assault shotgun in front of me. I could see spiral stairs at the end of the hallway. I didn’t like this one bit. I kept walking until I reached them, when I aimed down I didn’t see anything else but another long hallway. I reached out for the flashlight I carried on my backpack and walked down.
When I reached the hallway below I noticed it was like a catacomb. Stone walls surrounded me; only the light of candles lit their humid surface. How’s it possible for something like this being below a church? I walked the long and creepy hallway, it was difficult to breathe down there. After a while walking I grew tired of how silent the hallway was and how it seemed nothing had changed. As I thought this I stumbled upon a large wooden door; the door had chains and spikes in it.
If they placed those there to scare intruders they did a good job, but I am not going to back off now.
The very second I opened the door and looked inside arrows flew straight at me. I deflected them with a swift blow off my shotgun right before they hit me.
First trap cleared.
I looked inside and was surprised at the sight of it.
-Eureka!
I had found the laboratory I had been looking for. It was huge, had an immense copula with Da Vinci style paintings. A little too extravagant to be under a church from a town located in the middle of nowhere. Strange machines and many bottles filled with bizarre liquids above a large table. Meanwhile I looked around I discovered a water tank in the back. Inside it was a mutated beast. Slowly I walked towards the tank, the beast seemed to be about 3 or 4 meters and looked like it was made from a mix of many kinds of farm animals and had many different mechanical artifacts. I don’t know what those were but they seemed to help it fight. It seemed to be a perfect fighting machine.
I looked at the table nearby. There was a picture of the creature and below it was written “X-DEFENDER”. I read the information and paused for a while. I thought it was a strange name, a strange name for a strange creature. I looked above and noticed that creature looked at me fiercely, savoring its next prey.
