Alice and Cats, Among Other Things

I've fallen down the rabbit hole where nothing is as it seems.
The world beneath our feet is even stranger than my dreams.
Rabbits with watches, singing flowers and even more magical things.
Where even pigs can take to the air by suddenly sprouting wings.

I chased the rabbit and landed here, a grinning cat as my host.
He says I have nothing to fear, but I am weary of him the most.
With his all-knowing grin and slitted eyes he holds up a vial to toast.
"Let the games begin," he says and disappears in a puff of smoke.

So I wander and come across a most interesting pair.
Alike in face and build, the only difference is the hair.
I turn to go back around but they shout, "Don't go there!"
They point in opposite directions. "Got that way if you dare..."

So I go left and by now there's aching in my feet.
But perchance do I come across a table with eight seats?
A man with mischievous eyes and a hat says, "Girlie don't you see?
There's not enough room at this table for the madness of you and me!"

So I'm kicked out of a tea party from a man who's lost his head,
and come across a garden, and I help paint white roses red.
A regal queen comes out. "And what are you doing?" She said.
I answered, "It's easier than planting an entirely new bed."

But she doesn't much like that excuse so I run again.
And come across a blue caterpillar who doesn't look like a friend.
"Who are you," he asks. "Alice. You?" "Abselum."
"Well, Mr. Caterpillar, have I finally reached the end?"

And up pops, guess who?, that purple and blue cat.
"Now Alice, won't you stay? This is where the fun is at."
"Sorry, Mr. Kitty, but I really have to get back."
"Very well," he mumbles to himself. "Who knew that she'd say that?"

In whirl of light colors I wake up in a tree.
I'm sad, but I'll see them again someday. If only in my dreams...
