Advice, Pretty Please With Gummi-Worms on Top

I've always wanted to get some of my work published. Whether I'm good enough remains to be seen, but I still want to try, at least. Ever since I was little writing has been a big deal to me. Both friends and family have said I'm good, but they're supposed to say that. I write stories--none are on here, though, but I don't know why--poems, and journal entrees--obviously. (If my spelling in this is bad, don't blame me; blame my Aunt's old, spell-check lacking computer)

Anyways. I have no clue how to get some of my things published, or how expensive it is... 'Cause I'm a loser and google sucks. I could ask my Aunt, but then she'd want to read my stuff, and that would be a train wreck in itself--my Aunt has a book or two published about English Literature.

I've wanted to be an author for forever, but that dream washed out, and now I want a career in journalism. But it'd be awesome if I could get something, anything, of mine published.

So can anyone give me some answers? Pweese?
