A sad story

Sarah walked into the church. She kneeled down and waited.After several hours, the priest walked up.

"What are you doing?"
"Waiting."
"For what?"
"An answer."
"what is the question?"
"What did Jesus give me?"
"Everything you have."
"Everything? He gave me an abusive father, who killed my mom and beats me every night for trying to turn him in? He gave me this scar, the one everyone calls me ugly for? What about my grades? I try my best, but the teacher yells at me because I must be retarded. My clothes are so ratty they might as well not even be there. My house is a dump, it has a hole in the roof so I freeze every winter and boil every summer. See how skinny I am? I'm barely eating. Now, what did Jesus give me?"

The priest is silent for a long time. "Jesus gave you life."

Sarah went home and shot herself.
