I made this for Quickflick London, a bi-monthly festival of short films made on a specific theme. Though Quickflick is not a 48 hour challenge competition, for me it might as well have been because I only found out about it a few days before the submission deadline of Monday, the 9th of May.

I've always wanted to get some of my work published. Whether I'm good enough remains to be seen, but I still want to try, at least. Ever since I was little writing has been a big deal to me. Both friends and family have said I'm good, but they're supposed to say that. I write stories--none are on here, though, but I don't know why--poems, and journal entrees--obviously. (If my spelling in this is bad, don't blame me; blame my Aunt's old, spell-check lacking computer)

A couple of days ago, I dressed up in this girlie outfit. I don't dress like a girl. At all. In fact, up until this year, I had considered skirts to be pointless, and bras a necessity, not an accessory. Before, I dressed in black cargo pants, chains, and boots. Now I have a more feminine side, and I own a dress--other than one for Halloween.

It's nice to know that there are people out in the world who are interested in reading my posts and actually comment on them. It makes me feel appreciated, and like I actually exist in this world, instead of being a shadow.

So I predicted how today was going to turn out pretty well yesterday. Have you ever wanted something so badly, and you tried your hardest to make it happen, but everything backfired and it turned out how you, unfortunately, knew it would? Yeah, happened to me, of course. I did my best to make today a good day, but with one event after another, I found it increasingly difficult to keep a smile pasted on my face.

I'm an idiot. I took a bubble bath earlier today and fell asleep. My dream was... odd. I had just finished watching Oprah's discussion on The Freedom Riders--hundreds of men and women, black and white, who had tried to stop segregation 50 years ago by riding on buses around the nation and refusing to sit in the back. They were attacked by many men and women; buses were burned, they were sent to prison, they were beaten--and sometimes killed. 

My dream was about me being one of those…
