less nerve endings in the toes too. evolution modifying those nerve endings to feel less pain, and be more sensitive to heat than anything else.   (your big toes are actually your bodies best thermometer.  this is why when you're hot you will instantly feel cooler if you stick your foot outside of the bed covers, and why people test the temp. of water in the bath with their toe first.

awesome i have the m48 one from united cutlery. not as good a history but considering first time i tests it it slipped and stabbed all the way through my big toe from side to the other I'd say it would get the job done. the cut was so clean it never even hurt.

thanks.   it's an Anghkola Supreme 13".  had it made in Nepal by the same company that makes the British Ghurka's their kukri
