My Opinion Of How/When And/Or What "Z-Day" Will Be...: Probably something introduced by the government to do something completely different. Drugs don't always do what they are 'supposed' to do (after all, anti-psychotics can be traced back to work on antihistamines for allergies).

Also, keeping in line with life imitating art, I suspect that anything of this magnitude, would be similar to Miranda in the Fire Fly 'verse on many levels.
