Mutants

Mutants is another French zombie movie, but is not nearly as in your face as The Horde.   This one moves a little slower and is not as action-packed as The Horde.  There's some nice moments of human drama in it.   

It's more like a cross between 28 Days Later and State of Emergency.  Like State of Emergency, it deals with the zombie apocalypse on a small stage.  It takes the time to let is get to know the characters and the trials they go through.  

The film follows a couple who happen to be ambulance drivers and lovers.  The man has become infected and the woman is doing everything they can to prevent the virus from having his way with him. They take refuge in an abandoned research facility, but they are there alone and must figure out who to trust.

This film won't be for everyone because its more about the people and not the zombies, but I liked it. That being said, there's still a good deal of scare and gore.
