Is there a certain zombie book or short story that blew you away? I have read some cool stories on this site so what are you guys reading to inspire you? I love most all zombie novels. Even the crappy heavily flawed self published stuff. Tell me!

I am trying to start reading Echo City by Tim Lebbon. I loved Dawn, still haven't had time to get into the rest of the series, having a toddler and all. I'm more of a science fiction/fantasy fan than I am horror but I am damn impressed with my husband's book collection. It's very fancy. lol

Echo City has started off interesting. Seems like Mr. Lebbon has a theme he sticks with. The first chapter, or prologue I guess, is very discriptive of the surroundings and of the character's viewpoint. I think that's what I love most about Tim Lebbon. He is able to captivate you and suck you into his world. He has quite the imagination. Now if I could just get a few seconds of time to focus and read it would be awesome.

"Day by Day 2 Beyond Exile" is really good. A lot that great tactical survival shit that I love. I enjoyed it more than the first book by JL Bourne, and it was a nice read as well.

Started "Rise Again" by Benn Tripp last night and I like it so far. Anybody else read this one?

Maybe I missed a post or a discussion but has anyone else seen this? The front of WZ is on this book. Scat pointed it out to me. I'm curious about the illustrator? Anybody know anything?

Ya basically. They are cheapish glossy covered glued paperback books, but I am ocd about my books, and I have maintained those in mint condition for a long time. I also have 3 kids so I get worried about them getting a hold of it.

David Moody also wrote "Hater" and its sequel "Dog's Blood."  I dig both books and can't wait for the finale!

I am almost done with "Autumn" by David Moody and I love it. It is simple and fun and I can't wait to read the sequels. That is where the problem lies. The copy I am reading is the new re release so I don't mind kind of messing it up, but the the sequels haven't been re released yet. I have all of them but I am scared of messing them up even a little. I have some stupid paranoia huh? This is why I need a Nook or Kindle obviously.

It appears Ryan Reynolds has signed on yo plat repairman Jack in the movie version of F Paul Wilsons "The Tomb" which is the first book in the series. I have mixed feelings about this cause Jack has such a mild manner and has this ability to blend in that I don't think Ryan has. He is a pretty boy who became freakin huge a few years ago, and Jack is none of these things. I think Ryan is funny and could capture Jacks sense of humor easily, but that is where the comparisons stop. I always though of someone like Edward Norton playing Jack. My friend wants Stacey Keech to play Abe. Good idead I think.

Anyway, so do you guys have a favorite book character that you wanna pretend set up in a movie? Which actor/actress would play your favorite character and why?

It is good. I don't really read vampire stuff, but I love Simon Clark so i had to read it. Didn't care much for the sequel but the finale comes out soon I think, and I will read it for sure. I prefer vampires that are more like monsters. That why I enjoyed Strain so much. I tried to get thru some Rice novels once and I remember enjoying Lestats story, but I just couldn't get into them. I read around 4 of them and just blah.

Of course Blood Crazy and Stranger are 2 classics by Simon Clark that everybody should read. Both are kind of zombies novels, and both freaking rule!

I've not read Vampyrrhic. You'll have to let me know how it is.

The Dead is for sure in my top 5 zombie books.
I read The Strain last year and the sequel a month or 2 ago and loved both. Super ready for the finale.
Have you or anyone else here read Vampyrrhic by Simon Clark?

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
