when it comes to the lever action, i would say go the 30-30 the model 94. ammo for this is in every walmart and spoting goods store across the nation and is a very reliable firearm. if price is an issue i would recomend going marlin. primary reason is because when winchester quit producing rifles and went to ammo only, the winchester rifle prices are now through the roof. and the older the rifle, the more the buck. the 1894CB is a great gun. but when the zombies walk, people will be grabbing up the handgun rounds first. so to get more rounds with less fight and more availability. i recomend the 30-30.

I'm looking at lever actions, and which of these would be for the better? I want a strong bullet, but is very easy to find at a local hunting store (in New Jersey) or a walmart.


I'm looking at a Winchester Model 94 or a Model 1894CB.

The 1894CB shoots a magnum round, but I'm not sure if a trip to the gun store would supply me with the proper calibur for my magnum. The 30-30 the Model 94 uses would probably be easier to find. Any input Komrad?

both remington and mossberg are the easiest to customize. remington shotguns can be customized with shot tube extensions ,all manner of stocks and forends and sights. mossberg has fixed shot tubes so you only have a choice of 5 or 8 shot models but like the remington has lots of options for the hunter or the tactical shooting fan. so my recomendations are remington and mossberg.

I'm looking to buy a shotgun. I'm looking for a pump, something that is easy to modify (ie, sights, mag extensions and such) and fairly common, with good parts commonality. Any suggestions?

Mrs. X, for you i recomend for you in the shotgun field the MOSSBERG 590 SHOTGUN. it uses both shot and slug and has a bayonet lug for the use of a bayonet. above is a video that demonstrates how the 2 are used. for your long range weapon i recomend a bolt action in .308 or .243 caliber. now when it comes to ammo for the bolt action rifle, you wont need many rounds for this one because this one wont be used as much. 3 to 4 boxes tops (each box only holds 20 bullets). and for a blade i recomend 2. either the M7 or the M9 bayonet o use with the shotgun. and a kukri knife. the reason i recomend the kukri is because it has 2x the chop power of a hatchet and 3 to 4x that of a macheti.

What would you recommend for long range and short range? The least amount of things to carry the better. So I kinda just wanted to possibly get a shotgun and something for long range and a blade of some sort.
