there is one thing i recomend that will turn an average house into a safe house when the time comes. HURRICANE SHUTTERS. when used and dropped down over the windows, these will turn an average house into a stronghold till time to move on to a safer place. after all, Max Brooks said it himself. "No place is safe. Only safer." HURRICANE SHUTTERS helped save a lot of lives during Hurricane Katrina. they are strong enough to withstand gale force winds, flying debre and other flying objects. so if they can stand up to that, then they can be of big help during an outbreak of living dead.
The East coast Komradz have several locations spread throughout the five boroughs of NYC that may serve as fortified safe houses.
komrad Venessa, our kommanding officer has coodinated a rally point for us to meet at. The rally point will be the Cloisters, located in Fort Tryon Park in Manhattan. Its a good central point of the surrounding areas and has the advantage of the highground. Here is a rough, non-detailed photo of the area, i was unable to post up the map quest of the entire area.

i would like to know more about this place.
the whole ham radio thing was brought up in a discussion i made called COMMUNICATIONS here in the Komradz group. i to feel that they would be the best for when Z-Day hits. i been looking into one myself.
agreed. even the best well layed plans can go wrong if acted on with haste. its best to just take a minute to catch ones breath, look at the situation, and plan from there. but the first thing on the list should definately if you live in the city to get out.
getting family to believe whats happening is the hardest thing to do. people like to live in this fragile little box called reality. when the box is ripped open, they have a total shit attack and it seems family does this worst of all because they are just that. family. we see them more then anyone else in our world and know them the best of all. i learned a long time ago it is easier to calm a total stranger then family for this same reason. sounds screwy i know. but its true. as far as granny and the whole gun thing goes. if its any help, when she sees her first person eaten by a zombie she will get over that quick enough and more likely to be the first to grab a shotgun faster then most realize. even her. lol. i think though when it comes down to executing the plan of escape. the biggest problem is where we are when the whole thing happens in the first place. i mean how can you grab your rifle when you are at the grocery store across town and all you got is a pocket knife and no real help. this is where every komrad should get a concealed carry permit like me so you have at least a handgun to help you get from points A to B. then you can concentrate on forming the plan to get out and survive.
I would rally with my KOMRADZ at the seventh regimental armory as it faces Park Avenue on Manhattan's East Side. -KOMRADZ LEAD THE WAY-

This is a exactly the spot where we can rally and re-group.

it looks like the best one to go to thus far.
I reside in central FL. (Formally from Long Island, NY) If possible I would set up operations at Castillo de San Marcos, in St. Augustine, if at all possible. It is over an hour drive and unless the city was evacuated, may be allready in use. But with some persuaision, it will become Cobra HQ. It has land and sea access. It is located on the intercoastal with access to rivers and the Atlantic Ocean. A Navy will have to be established for defense, recon, and to protect the fishing vessels that supply precious resources. It has a moat that can be flooded, a small rear entrance that can be barricaded, and a double gate entance in the front. The drawbridge is not functional but can be fixed to make it so. There is an operational fresh water well there. This is a great place to defend, as it has never been taken over by force (only through treaties has it changed hands). Once stockpiled with troops and provisions, it will be a great base of operations for Florida. This could be a stoping point for Komradz traveling north from southern FL.

PS.... If anyone wants to do some recon with me, St Augustine is a great place to hang out. Lots of great places to eat, drink, and be merry! It's definatly one of my fav places in FL. The Historic district is the place to be. Highly recomend "The Tasting Room", a spanish Tapas Bar/Resturant!
Come on down! First stop... "The Tini Martini Bar" and NO, Cobra commander doesnt drink Cosmos.... I take 'em old school, Gin and Dirty! LOL!

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
