YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
Today may be April 1, but tonight’s city-wide game of zombie tag — more formally known as Survive Johnson City — is no joke. The flesh-eating fun begins at 8 p.m.
Event organizer Joe Carnevale of Johnson City said he played the game in Raleigh, N.C., several years ago and was inspired to have a game of zombie tag here.
But he did not anticipate the game would attract as many people as it has.
“I figured maybe 400 people maximum but within three days of posting the Facebook event page, 3,000 accepted the invitation,” Carnevale said. That number has since dropped to around 1,200 partly because the group was forced to create a new page after dates were altered.
On March 18, group organizers held a fundraiser to cover event insurance and extra security costs. The total fee amount was approximately $1,000. Since police will be working off-duty, Carnevale and his team were required to rent squad vehicles.
The fundraiser event included a brain-eating contest, live music, a costume contest, a dance-off and zombie face painting.
In zombie tag, players must wear a white T-shirt underneath a black T-shirt and retrieve a token upon arrival. After a “human player” is tagged with both hands by a zombie, that player must remove their black T-shirt, hand over their token and join the side of the zombies. No one is allowed to hide out or go indoors.
The goal of zombie tag is to make it to all six checkpoints — placed in areas around downtown — without being tagged by a designated zombie. Players will receive a different-colored stamp on their hands at each checkpoint and must make it back to the finish line without “turning into a zombie themselves,” meaning they were tagged. There will be one zombie for every 100 players.

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
