Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

a simple mod to any slingshot turns it from a weapon only suitable for small game up to something that can take down a dear and maybe even the undead. by now we should all now that bows and crossbows are great weapons against the undead. vertically silent you can down a walker right smack dab in the middle of a horde with out so much as a glance towards your hiding spot. but one of the big issues that makes them impractical is the size. if your gonna carry a bow or even a crossbow its gonna be your primary weapon. but this dandy little contraption folds up to such a small size you can throw it in a cargo pocket or in a bug out bag and never feel the weight. you add in a couple of take down arrows and you got yourself one dandy of an all around hunting system that takes up the same space as a .22 pistol. all this at the low low cost of the one inch PVC and couple of tooth brushes. this is just a prototype later on I'm gonna add on some super strong bands for more power and maybe some ranger bands in place of the zip-ties so i can take the arrow rest on and off more easily. all and all this project cost me under 40 bucks and that includes nine arrows, the sling shot and the shipping. i do not take credit for the sling bow idea its been around longer then I've been alive and this arrow rest design belong to a guy on YouTube called greekgadgetguru check his videos out he makes a lot of cool stuff. and if you want one of these but don't feel like making it go over to Dave Canterbury site he sells a great sling bow product that he calls the pocket hunter. being a manufactured product its much sleeker then this design but i went with this because i like to build my own stuff. having to build it is half the fun in my opinion and i liked how this looks very post apocalyptic, mad max made it out of junk kinda thing. so what do you think. I've tried it out and it works pretty good. with no experience i was able to hit a pizza box from 20 yards almost every time. i think with some training and a little tweaking i could hit something the size of a human head with pretty good reliability.

(The updated version of my Apocalyptic sling-bow which replaces the junky zip ties with metal brackets that screw together and clamp on to the forks of the slingshot for quicker installation and removal.)

well with the right bands it can have the same draw weight as a 40 pound bow which at least in my state is enough to legally hunt. Ive seen Dave Canterbury design take large game i think it was some kinda ram or something. you add spear gun rubber to this baby and your reaching 80 pound draw length. in my testing as is with just standard bands on it I've had it bury a cheap field tip (the one in the earlier pics above) all the way into my solid wooden front door. its enough to scare me. you put a broad head on it and forget about it. stock its already enough to take small game.

i have seen some really impressive stuff on the sling-bow on YouTube. enough to want to make one of my own. and thats going a stretch being i am more of a gun and knife kind of guy and a fancier of a good club.

hey i made this whole set up for less then 20 bucks and almost all of that was the slingshot itself. and you can get cheap arrows if you search around, their kinda junky but for a sling-bow more then good enough. or you could make your own out of a few dowel rods and some duck tape feathers.

well. i just got through working on the piece of PVC pipe and getting the toothbrush heads fixed into them. i made 6 pipe sets and all 6 are using firm bristle head setups for longer lasting life. i am thinking about using the bracket setup like you did. just more permanent. not sure yet. still thinking that over. but if i do go the permanent route. i will be altering the delivery system to on the bands. instead of the leather patch. i will be using paracord to launch the arrows with on the power bands. that way i can use a bow trigger on it and be able to hold the bands back longer and get a more accurate shot off with it. just working out the kinks. but i like what i am coming up with so far.

sweet keep me updated, and post pics if you can. yeah a solid state system will be more accurate but i really wanted mine to be more versatile. though i may make a solid state one too in the future. mine also uses para cord but its a loop tried through the pouch that the  arrow nock snaps on to and i pull the bands back with the para cord. any thought on which slingshot your going to use. there's one called a diablo 2. its a pro sling shot with three stabilizers and a sight that i always thought would make a wicked sling-bow.

pretty bad ass right, not as compact as my folding slingshot but if you want laser accuracy i don't think you could do much better.

this is the basic model i am starting off with. its the Laser Hawk Adjustable slingshot. i picked this up last night. it is totally awesome and being it is adjustable. if you have a group, anyone can use it. i think this or the Diablo 2 would be a great base for a sling-bow

yeah that would be my second choice. you gotta upgrade those bands though, thera band black of preferably gold wold be the bestrides spear gun rubber. its an exercise rubber and you maybe able to find it at you local pharmacy i know mines got it. or you could order it off the internet.

i got some of those spear gun bands somewhere. i just gotta find what i did with them. i got a wholesale lead on things like this. lol.

cool the spear gun bands are the best only problem is they might be too strong. I've seen other people with them struggle to pull them beck leading to releasing too early which can ruin your shot. hope your a strong guy, and even so a few pecks last might be a goods idea.

This is truly awesome you got me ready to order some survival goods to prep for the future.

always glad to spread the word of preparedness.

Would you mind if I post this discussion on my facebook group, West Tennessee Sektor ZTRT??  Or you can be added to the group and you can place it up there yourself. I like this idea and the more I look at it on youtube the more I can see it being useful as hell. Especially when training young kids in defending themselves and hunting...I'm really liking this idea a lot...

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
