Why is Clive Owen not James Bond?

Why not Godzilla as James Bond? His martini would be HUGE.

Think about it.

But seriously, I think Clive Owen would do a great job as Bond. No one beats Connery though.

i'm not into the whole Bond thing,but i agree on both counts:
Roger Moore is my favourite Bond & Clive Owen should've taken over the role when the last guy retired.
i'm not keen on the new guy,he doesn't even look like a Bond!

Yea Roger Moore's my Bond though I think it has to do with time. He was Bond when I was a kid. I do agree that Clive would have made a good bond but what's his name? Daniel Craig? He's alright. Except the scene in the first flick where he came out of the water wearing the bathing suit that bond girl wore before. Bond has never been "pretty" before and he never should be. He made up for it in edge later though. Maybe Clive wasn't famous enough yet when they were shopping for the next James. I honestly never thought about it before now but yea, he would have been pretty cool.

I think it could have do with the small and somewhat amazing fact that Mr. Owen sufferes from Monotone voice.. Seriously I have yet to see a movie where he is acting in it and has any range of emotion in his speach pattern. From Sin City to Shoot 'em up (both great films) I can not recall any change in his voice, maybe he should have a gritty detective/ private investigator movie written for him where he could narrate and act in it.
