YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

After a few mainstream zombie flicks bombed in the box offices I got to wondering, What are the ingredients for a good zombie movie?

P.S. Zombieland is the top grossing zombie film in history...Thats not a box office bomb =D
Zombieland did a WICKED job at marketing and promotion. l like many HARDKORE Zombie fans I rushed to see this movie with high expectations. I went with my fellow Komradz to the premiere and was extremely disappointed at the movie. To add insult to injury if (Zombieland director/producers) were going to pay HOMAGE to any one, George A. Romero should have received it not Bill Murray. That was a SLAP in the face.

Making a zombie movie period is paying homage to Mr. Romero weather we like said movie or not. Zombie movies will always be churned out thanks to that one man. Some we will love others we'll loathe but that will always be in the eye of the beholder!
Weather we like Zombieland or whatever zombie movie it is thats a matter of opinion but this thread was about box office zombie bombs when in fact none of them have bombed they have made their money back and then some. I think Survival did bomb tho! :)
Just because George Romero invented the zombie genre in movies does not mean every film is an homage to him. He merely brought the genre into the limelight so that other people kan karry the torch and take the zombie genre to a whole new level. Is every horror thriller an homage to Alfred Hitchcock? No of kourse not, yet Hitchcock brought that genre to a kompletely new level. Thus, some zombie films totally ignore the ground rules Romero laid out for zombies, and in that lies their inherent flaw.
Mr. Hitchcocks movies are way to good to be considered horror....
Research or not BOTH of the movies make me kringe.
LOTD was a disappointment. Especially after waiting so long for a Romero zombie film.
LOTD,DOTD, and SOTD in my opinion are good films. i will be the first to admit that LAND had a bit more action in it then Diary or Survival did. but those two were telling more a story of people making their way on the road home as the outbreak started. like a prequal to Night of the Living Dead or at least parallel to it. and people making their way on a almost zombie free island. could the last two use a bit more action or zombies? yes. but they are part of a classic epic story board and without them, the story is incomplete. so for me, i gotta get them for my collection.

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
