I love Pinback. My friend played them for me when I was in college and I've been listening to them since. They are so calming. I keep them in my bedtime playlist.

Big Surprise That I Am Gonna Say Mike Patton!
Lots to pick from: Lovage, Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom, Fantomas, Dillenger Escape Plan, Zu, tons of guest appearances, and the soon to be released Crudo. But for my recent money I would go with Mondo Cane. It is Patton with a full orchestra doing all Italian classics from the 50s and 60s. It is badass!
