‘Spaceballs: The Search for More Money’ is Finally Happening!

Way back in 1987, we were all given a promises at the end of one of the funnest spoof movies, (my opinion don't get bent out of shape) of a sequel. Over two decades later we may finally have our continuation. Thanks in large part to the new star wars movie. Mel Brooks, (father of the zombie survival guide creator max brooks) has stated his interest in making the tentative titled ‘Spaceballs: The Search for More Money’.

Earlier this year Brooks stated on Adam Corolla’s “Take A Knee” podcast, “In Spaceballs, in the movie, Bill Pullman says to me, Yogurt, just plain Yogurt, he says ‘Do you think we’ll ever meet again?’ and I say ‘Well, I don’t know…maybe in Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.’ And I’m thinking now, if I did a movie that came out right after Star Wars comes out — maybe a couple of months later — I’d have a big weekend, you know?”

Cut to today and Brooks is back on the podcast saying not only that he would like to start filming in early 2016. He also hopes to have the original cast come back!

It would seam that brooks is going to take a page once again from the new star wars the force awakens book. having the original cast return for to play a small part. but have the store focus more on a newer cast to push the store forward. After all both John Candy and Joan Rivers have passed away already and Rick Moranis is no longer acting. How ever many of the other original actors of the film are probably more then happy to take up the call.

Brooks is a true master of satire and i think that spaceballs 2 couldn't have come at a better time. With Disney now owning star wars we can already see merchandising taken above and beyond the limits of decency. we need yogurt to once again remind us what Hollywood is really about as Disney pumps out another new star wars film every 3 months.
