Komrad Rhino - I just looked on Ebay and Sims 2 runs around $15 and the expansion packs are priced accordingly. The first game would be really cheap I'm sure. Sims 3 new is probably around $40 if I were to guess. eta: You can find them new all over Google for $24 and up from what I see.

They're all fun. I did download the third game and tried to start it. I could tell it would be a blast but it crashed my computer over and over so I deleted it.

I love it because I love design. So it's really fun to build your own houses and design your own stuff. You can get lost for hours and hours coming up with new and amazing houses.

they show a lot of costume mods someone did for the sims 2...plus anything with rob zombie in is just fucking cool!

sims 3 is around $30 to $40
there is an expasion pack out that runs around $40.
i give it about a year, or two before the price drops.
sims 2 i picked up at video trader shop, kinda like gamestop but cheaper.
got about 3 expansion packs there for around $5 each.

kasumalley, i hear ya about the design stuff...i used to play around with the first sims....god i must have created 30 some odd sims.
back then ya had to use a program called milkshape to make custom content.
it was a blast!
i made an entire line of sims made up to look like the guys from kiss!
i still have them on a old disk around the bottom of my desk.
just could not bring myself to throw them away after i got into the sims 2.
think i'll post them to some archive online some time....

I actually have all my old disks too. I couldn't throw them away either. LOL Isn't that funny? I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have the original and all my expansion packs in a box somewhere.

I bought The Sims 2 at Half Price Books where I used to be a bookseller for $9.99 new, so you can find them for really cheap. Sims 3 is on Google shopping, here is a listing. Still have to add shipping but it's not too bad for new I guess.

I would play it in high school and my mom was always annoyed with me for spending so much time building fake lives. She never understood that what I was into was designing houses and interiors, I rarely played the game. Now I'm going to art school and design is a big part of my life. I like to think that The Sims helped with that and that my mom can stick it. hahaha Don't tell a girl what she can't do!
