YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
Having the latest and greatest thousand dollar combat weapon is good and all but it does you no good if you don't have it in your hands when that undead ghoul tries to sink his infected teeth into you. and whether you left it in your sleeping back, at home, of in that catalog while wait on layaway. the fact is you may need to rely on what you have at hand at the time when they rise. anything capable of busting open a zombie skull of piercing the brain is good enough to save your life, but that doesn't make it an affective weapon. because improvised weapons were never meant to be swung into a zombie's skull, they can be cumbersome or awkward to wield. light modifications should be done when ever possible to help improve your weapon of opportunity. down time is dead time, as they say. remember the old military saying always improve your fox hole. with that in mind i will be showing you simple modifications you can made to everyday object to make them more comfortable and proficient to go bashing around zombie heads around. all with limited tools and in as quick a time as possible.
in this first lecture we will be using only enhancement to modify your improvised skull crackers. and that one thing is something every good zombie survivalist should carry with them at all times. it has a million in one uses on its own, from bracelets PARA-CORD! ever since it was first invented by the military for use in, you guessed it, para-shots. this multy-stranded string of nylon has always hung a place in our prepper hearts. with its thin diameter and super strong breaking strength of over 500 hundred pounds. we've found countless tasks for it. and today i show you a few more. lets start off with a simple addition to zombie favorite.
thats right the humble crowbar. in everything from the walking dead, to dead island the crowbar has bashed its way in and imbed itself in zombie mythology. for many zombie fans this isn't only a good improvised weapon but in fact their preformed method of re-deadefication. so you might be saying how can you possible make this better. well despite is gore drenched fame we must never forget that this is not a combat weapon. it is designed fro prying, tearing and general destruction. but the one thing it was not meant to do was be swung. it is not a baseball bat. and with its heavy weight and slick grip the crowbar can be hard to hold onto. especially when slicked by infected blood and brain mater. thats where our para-cord comes in.
a simple handle wrap makes the crowbar much more ergonomic when swing around at the living dead. losing your grip when drenched in zombie juice is also a thing of the past. all while cutting down on painful blisters and damage to your hands from the repeated shocks of crack open skulls like ripe melons. the addition of an adjustable wrist strap at the end insures your favorite weapon never leaves your reach.
thats right whether you let go in the heat of battle or its ripped away by the graby hands of infected or survivor alike. the para-cord makes sure the protecter of you life stays where it belongs.
ready to open a can of whoop-ass on anything and everything that stands in your way. it's a good thing.
but para-cords not just for making good weapons better. it can also turn impractical objects into lean mean green boy killing machines.
here we have the ordinary metal water bottle. a reusable convenience that has become popular in both everyday life and the prepper community. whether its going for a jog of boiling up that river water to make it safe the metal water bottle is a valued resource. but can it kill a zombie. the answer is no, at as it is of course. you'd have to get way to close to a zombie to try and beat it to death with one of these. and throwing it is a one shot trick with no guranty of destroying the zombie. and really why use something as precious as water for a job any rock can do.but wait there's something different about the water bottle in that picture? thats right a little bit of para-cord turns this flop into a hell yes.
this para-cord mod comes in the form of a custom lanyard attached to the carabiner hole in the top of almost all reusable water bottles. this allows the bottle to be griped by the lanyard and swung turning this water bottle into an effective mace. a full bottle of water will give you more then enough weight to get into those undead skulls , and really smash around those rotting brains.
now you maybe asking your self why do i want to turn my water container into a deadly weapon and risk losing it? it's a fair question and the answer is it isn't ideal. but life isn't ideal and neither will be the zombie apocalypse. you may lose your primary weapon of be caught off guard with nothing but your swinging... water bottle and then i can assure you, you'll be glad for this simple mod. and the lanyard has more uses then just swing the bottle around at zombies. like the crowbar above it gives you a length of invaluable para cord you can then use for other tasks if the need ever arrives. it makes it easier for you to find and carry your water bottle. you can use it to hang above a fire for boiling and with dozens of different lanyard weaves and styles it adds a nice touch of class to any canteen.
(that being said we always prefer stainless steel better wepon integrity and boiling capability)
but perhaps the most important reason is that until they actually start to rise you can't really go around carrying other weapons like our crowbar around with you. not if you don't want to be arrested. but no one will look twice at this water bottle and you'll have the satisfaction and security of knowing your ready for them. so with so many uses and no cons why haven't you tricked out your water bottle yet?
i could go on and no listing all the varies uses and mods for para-cord but i think it speaks for itself. but i have hopped this inspired you to look at your own gear and think up your own mods. and if you have a good para-cord mod for improvised weapons that uses household items post it bellow. or just leave a comment telling me what you thought and what you would like to see next along with any questions. good night and remembered LEARN, PREPARE, FIGHT "Because the dead won't stay dead, on their own"!

i have paracord wrap on all of my melee weapons. another thing you may want to consider if you are in the 21 or older bracket like myself is a CCW permit. many a state offers them and most of them even allow "open" carry of a handgun like my state of Ohio. i go NOWHERE without it! and you dont have to have an expensive system to carry with either. for instance my shoulder rig. its a simple AIRSOFT SHOULDER HOLSTER. thats right! AIRSOFT. it finally came to a practical use. lol. now instead of just the mag in the gun and 2 other mags. my CCW loadout is four 15 round magazines. two magazines in the mag pouches. one magazine in the gun. and another on the holster itself. now like with all this stuff. you will have to modify it when you get it as it was made for plastic guns half the size of the original. but a few minutes of your time and a needle and thread. and you have a tactical holster that gives you all you need for carrying concealed and max firepower to. this is the rig i use.
after i got done with it. it now holds a total of three 15 round mags and a Smith & Wesson model 59 with a 15 round mag and one in the chamber giving me a total of 61 rounds to work with to get home on. plus the advantage of some goodies in what i like to term as a "GET YOUR ASS HOME" bag because lets face facts. you cant take your BOB with you everywhere. and the rig itself only costs a total of $10 on Amazon.
thats a good post but i live in jersey forget about concealed and open carry, the laws are strict here i can't even get a shotgun. all because i can't get two people to vouch for me on my fire arms perches license application. that and they run your back round your families and anyone you life with, and reject you for any trouble. that and my mom is kinda hated by a whole towns police force. in her defense it is the most corrupt police department this side of Samaria. good thing my grandparents still have an shotgun in the house. single action breach break but better then nothing. more bad news is no one will tell me where the hell it is.
i have heard that about Jersey. total bullshit. but then again it is run by some of the most notorious congressional gun grabbers in the government. so no real shocker there. but you may wanna consider making your own "GET YOUR ASS HOME" bag. its a basic day pack filled with the basics a person carrying it may feel are needed if the SHTF and they are in a day to day activity like paying bills. and in it. you can get away with carrying a good melee weapon or two. reason being who anymore does NOT carry a small day pack of a sorts. here is the one i carry.
they are tough and can carry a lot of good gear to get you home on to get to your main stash. i sell these by the way. and i dont endorse what i have not tested for heavy use myself. here is what i put in my bag.
1) extra 9mm ammo (50 rounds)
2) hydration bladder
3) beef jerky
4) granola bars
5) first aid kit
6) shemagh
7) chewing tobbacco
8) combat knife
9) multi-tool
but like i said. it can be made to the user's specific needs. something to consider. and no more then i put in mine. it leaves it open for scavenging to. another fringe benefit. lol.
thanks for the help man but you act like I'm a novice here is my edc slash get home bag
and hers an old video of my larger get home slash bug out bag. i've made alot of changes but it gives you the basics.
I"ve been into zombies and survival since i saw the original night of the living dead when i was five. i only did this simple thread as an ice breaker to more intense mods down the line. and to help out less informed zombie fans.
sorry if that came out kinda harsh rhino i didn't mean it that way. i am interest in you get home bag you got a video on it or anything.
its cool bro. i never take things personal. lol. no. unfortunately i dont have a video yet on my bags. i never got around to making them. but i got some spare time coming soon. so i may just dust off the camera and do a few. the reason i did the whole post on the bag is because you would be surprised on just how many dont think beyond the BOB. so my intention was not to treat you bad or look down on ya or treat ya like a novice. just doing what i can to inform like you do. so there is no hard feelings. in fact its just the opposite. its very refreshing to see. lol. your cool in my cool book bro.
also wanted to say i like the videos. they were well put together and the bags were put together well to. what i like to think of as common sense stuff. very good. ;)
thanks always good to here positive commentary. i got nothing but bull from YouTube. thats why i prefer zombie sites. the people are much nicer.
same here man and i always follow the for tears of preparedness. edc, get home bag, bug out bag, main supply. if you don't have all 4 your not prepared. and i agree to many people don't look beyond the most fundamental aspect of survival. so just to stay on topic you got any ideas for improvised weapons mods for para-cord. either incorporating it of makes weapons out of it.
These are some great weapons above and beyond zombie killing. They are protection period!
"re-deadefication LEARN, PREPARE, FIGHT "Because the dead won't stay dead, on their own"
thanks bottle things something I've never seen done so i thought i'd post it. and you like that saying do you, its the slogan of my own zombie killing series. redead the undead. unfortunately it never really took off.
you will find that Wicked Zombies is a whole new stomping ground here. a lot of people with open minds. so if presented enough. it could just yet take off. ;)

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
