Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

You never really know if they are empty. There are always the living, and the dead shambling around to worry about. My personal recommendations:
Surround and check out a house thoroughly before approaching then enter.

The first place I would scavenge is a national guard armory and treat it the same as a home.

spent 2 years as a tactical entry officer.    only read the first page of this discussion so far...

1.)  6 man team is good if trained.     splitting up in the house is horrible idea.   you will constantly be pointing a gun at an ally. not knowing where your allies are at all times means you might mistake them for enemies, and accidents WILL happen.     horrible idea, unsafe.

2.)  searching houses for lootable things will, and will not work, depending upon time from initial outbreak, severity, and commonality.  a safe rule is to never assume you were the first person to think of any idea.    if you are going to loot things like medications, don't go to a pharmacy because everyone and their gimpu grandma will have thought of that and already decided to do the same.    FIND ALTERNATE, OBSCURE SOURCES.  like veterinary supply stores.    the medications used on animals are the exact same as used on humans.  (true fact)   they also for some reason, are alot cheaper even though they are the same thing. so stockpiling before hand is much easier.

3.) houses are great for 1 thing, especially in drought style conditions.    every house has a water heater.  almost all current, up to date water heaters have backflow devices on them to prevent contaminated sources from mingling.    so, every house will usually have a 40 gallon supply of clean water that you can drain from the water heater it's self.

4.)  dog food is pretty much cardboard in nutritional value.   catfood is a bit better though.   never bypass wet petfood. even if you don't eat it, you can use it for bait.

5.) pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment is not built for direct coals and campfires.  you're going to burn through them quickly. (pun intended)   so if you have the ability, scavange them, and trade them to others for useful items.

Great plan you sound really prepared.

i've been ACTUALLY prepping since 2005.   been studying, gathering gear, TESTING that gear while out camping, practicing bushcraft, not just luxury camping, etc.  shooting, and training.    my wife is used to it and has kinda gotten into it herself.   you can never be too prepared, know too much, or have too many options.

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
