YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
I finally got round to watching World War Z at weekend.I had stayed clear due to adverse criticism and the re imaging of a favourite book of mine that I had so looked foward to being made, especially from the original trailers.Anyway I enjoyed it,more of a zombie/action movie as opposed to a purer form of the genre. My question is concerning the infection process. Brad gets blood in his mouth and runs to the top of the building, obviously planning to jump if he feels himself turning while he counts out the seconds till safe.He remains uninfected.Later at the medical research facility in Cardiff we see footage of a scientist turning at the beginning of the infection. How was he infected by blood and Brad wasnt .Did the zombie blood not actually go in Brads mouth ?Is it explained or just one of those things.Just a small niggle but been bugging me.. cheers

I had the same question. Didn't Pitt's character say that he had the blood in his mouth? Anyone else remember that, too?
I agree with your take, though. I separated my experience with the book from the movie.

You know, I was wondering that myself. I'm wondering if it was more along the lines of amount or body chemistry that kept Brad's character from turning...But I just chalked it up to one of those movie stops in which we weren't supposed to catch or just a scene in which was supposed to be towards the beginning of the movie and ended up being edited towards the middle or end....(L)
He did indeed say that he got blood in his mouth.I was using the idea that maybe was his own blood and he thought it was the zombies. There was a similar anomaly in 28 Days later. One of the characters gets blood in his eye from a crow eating dead zombie flesh .Later on when there exploding zombies and blood splattering everywhere, noone seems to mind or become infected
the gist i got from the movie was that the virus made the zombies seek out healthy people to infect. if that was the case. maybe he had a genetic defect that kept him safe. something like a simple case of herpes or something. i dont know. maybe grasping at straws here. lol. but that is what i got out of it. lol.
hahaha.. Brad being infected did cross my mind as well.. Yeah Herpes! On a side note,I liked that whole idea about the virus being selective .
Maybe Brad did have a (defect) or maybe it was just a glitch in the movie. Either way the whole zombies only wanting to infect healthy people was a inventive twist. But what make a person undesirable to the undead? What illnesses? Terminal or not?
I reckon has to be terminal, otherwise too random.Could also be that the virus had to enter the blood as opposed to saliva..But would have been a bit sloppy for a scientist in a medical centre wandering around with an open wound..!Anyway thanks for the input everyone

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
