YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
so while researching for my zombie hunter con costume i fell in love with post apocalyptic cosplay. everything from fallout props to original works. it's just such a cool look and you can do anything with it. it requires little money if you know how to scavenge and helps prepare all of us for what it's gonna be like after they rise. i felt wickedzombies was a good place to bring this to help expand the site. so with all that in mind I'm going to be posting cool stuff i make and design here. and if you catch the bug or maybe if you already have it then i welcome you to post your stuff here too.

UPDATE... after powering up the fan i am happy to report that it does move a very good quantity of air, so i believe that this will work. all i need now is the car air filter. a one inch sink drain, the hose to connect the mask to the respirator. and a battery holder capable of putting out 12 volts. oh and a waist strap. I'd like to use a seat belt but we'll see what come up. things i would like to add. a battery indicator maybe using one of those old fashioned mechanical meters. like this one,
and i think thats the one I'm going to use, another part I'll have to order off amazon but so worth it. and the last thing will be a small drip try for an condensation coming off of the ice. it will basically be a shallow box inside of the lunch bow that the ice will sit in. I'm thinking of just gluing a small project box to the inside. i also want to put a little valve coming out the bottom so the water can be collected for reuse. this will keep the internal fan from getting wet and reuse water. since water will be such a valuable resource in the post apocalypse.
i think i may have your solution when it comes to connecting the mask to the filter. being the mask is an Israeli civilian mask. if you can get one of these soviet masks. then i think you will have the hose needed because they both use a 40mm thread. i think i might even have some sources that sell the hoses.
i figure 2 hoses will give you the length you need to connect to your box. i can do some digging for ya if you want. see if any of my sources have these hoses for ya.
thanks i had an idea since my mask came with a white plastic plug that screws in where the filter goes. i guess to protect the hole or something. you can see it here.
i was just gonna bore out the cent of the bottom of this cap. glue a vacuum cleaner hose over it, and use it as a coupling of sorts but your idea would probably look better. if you can find them for a good price i would be interested.
so what do you think of the design over all?
i like it a lot. it rocks. and i will get on the hoses tomorrow.
thanks man i appreciate it, can those hose be joined together as is or will they need a coupler.
being how they are made. they can join together as is. they will even have the necessary seals to make it work.
thanks yeah I'm really happy with how it came out.
okay so I've made some progress on my respirator I've gotten almost all the parts. battery holder, air filter that fits and i found a cheap little analog multi-meter. i can start drilling all my holes but first i ran into a little bit of a problem. the air inlet the the guy used in his blog. he calls it a 1" sink drain pipe but i haven't been able to find anything like it. i think its a custom piece he made by cutting and welding a piece of pipe to a flat piece of brass what do you guys think. anyone ever seen this part before.
the next problem is while the the air filter i got works I'm wondering if it will be too thick for good airflow. the fan the guy used is much larger and more powerful then mine. I'll test it before i gut a huge hole in the lid of the lunch box by putting it first in a sheet of cardboard over the housing. but i have to get everything else in place first. i would have taken pictures but I'm gluing the meter to the side of the lunchbox right now so i gotta keep it still till it drys.
on the mask front i used some clear nail polish for a clear coat and it worked great. the polish dried and its no longer sticky to the touch. but it does seam to have added a slight slight pink hue to the mask. i don't know if its the polish it's self or if it picked up a little pigment from going over the red sharpy design. its not that noticeable but it is bugging me. maybe I'll touch up the paint with white nail polish. I'll post a pic soon and you guys can decide what i do. oh i also finally darkened the eyes. i first glued the lenses from a pair of sun glasses into the soda can rings. and then glued those to the mask over the eyes. works really good. again pics to follow.

Greetings Everyone, Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
