so while researching for my zombie hunter con costume i fell in love with post apocalyptic cosplay. everything from fallout props to original works. it's just such a cool look and you can do anything with it. it requires little money if you know how to scavenge and helps prepare all of us for what it's gonna be like after they rise. i felt wickedzombies was a good place to bring this to help expand the site. so with all that in mind I'm going to be posting cool stuff i make and design here. and if you catch the bug or maybe if you already have it then i welcome you to post your stuff here too.

i would go with the shotgun. looks way sweeter then the machete.

yeah it does.

bumped

and as promised full body pics of me in all my gear.

with shotgun

close up with gasmask

close up with shotgun

with goggles and machete

and finally with eye patch

now there are a few props missing just incidental accessory that wouldn't have shown up in the photos but would be useful in person. like the water skin and shin armor stuff like that. i learned a lot form this dress rehearsal like how I'm gonna have to wear the shoulder armor. that I'll have to take the arm strap off off the metal left shoulder guard because i can't run it through the cloak. just small stuff like that which will help when the con comes in a week. you may have noticed that i wasn't wearing the respirator. thats cause i haven't gotten the hoses yet. I'm hoping they'll come before march 9th when the con is. looking to you rhino man.

okay so after taking these pics it became clear how much my clothes under the robe stood out. the robes great but i still need appropriate pa stuff to go on underneath. now i have an idea for making patch work pants by cutting up several old pants i have. that are either ripped or to small or what ever and sewing them into one cool wasteland leggins. but thats gonna take time and a lot of work and won't be con ready. so in mean time i dug around my old clothes and found this shirt.

its from high school so it already had a lot of great actual wear and tear. which i just made worse cutting off one whole sleeve. (which made a great face mask by the way.)and then just cutting up edges and putting holes in it. its a little to small for me, but i can still wear it. just over a regular shirt so i dont show any unwanted skin.

so what do you guys think? i think its cool and the lightheartedness of the graphic t mixed wiht the more somber of the robe gives  a great pa impression.

i also have  a little pant thing to go with it.

this is just a panel cut from the leg of some old jeans. i like it cause of all the pockets so it just run it through my belt like so and it will hang over my thigh. after all you can never have enough pockets after the apocalypse.

make a suggestion. dont over think the costume. reason being the more you complicate the plumbing. the easier it is to stop up the drain. if this is sounding confusing and making you scratch your head wondering how this effects the price of eggs in China. then envision this. you get into your costume. you walking around eating and drinking. then it hits! you gotta take a DUMP! the more involved your costume becomes to put on. the more involved it becomes to reverse. and the longer it takes to reverse increases the odds of a how should we say "accident". so my advise is to just use an old pair of tattered jeans. and if they dont have that look then alter them to have it.

i should explain the reasoning behind this one. when i was in my 20's. i knew a guy who sold hazmat gear at gun shows. well i fit the bill for the big and tall section of this new (and air tight) line of hazmat suits. so he payed me for 3 days of wearing this suit to model and demonstrate. well all day. every hour on the hour. i had to stand in front of a whole crowd of people. demonstrate how one can eat and drink yet stay safe in this new line of suit. easy $300 right??? thats what i used to think. well even though i was only takeing a bite of food here and there and a swig of water out of the hazmat canteen to wash down the food. it NEVER dawned on me that the bathroom may just be an issue in this suit. and gun show hotdogs are not good on the stomach despite popular opinion. well i am up there doing my thing. next thing i knew after the belt of water. my stomach gives a rumble from hell. in the middle of the stage he made. i grabbed my stomach and made a mad dash for a date with a toilet. now this suit was so damn complex. it took about 30 minutes to don the fucker. we are talking suit, boots, head cover and rebreather. making it to a toilet was no biggie. i even lucked out with an empty stall. but chucking enough of this stuff to do the deed was a whole new ballgame. to cut a long and gross story short. i didnt quite make it. so instead of $300 in my hand that Sunday for 3 days work. i had $245 because i had to buy some army issue pants and undershorts that day. this is why i recommend to just use a pair of tattered denims and not over think the look to much. lol.

okay gives me some things to think about so I'm guessing you don't like the shirt and pocket thing.

i like the shirt idea. but if you do the pocket thing. find a way to hook them to the main belt you wear. that way you dont have to maybe have to struggle with it in an inopportune moment. the whole complicating the plumbing thing. lol. if you gotta go. you dont want to fight to much to get to go. lol. and if all else fails. the pair of jeans tattered. that malodorous day at the gun show taught this old dog a lot. lol. what you could do is this. when it comes to the pocket thing. at the waist line where the belt loops are. in between the belt loops. cut out spaces for the belt loops of the main pair of pants you wear. that way you can weave the belt through both sets of belt loops and not need another belt to get in your way.

ell i am just gonna wear a pair of pants, and the pockets will be hanging from a gun belt around my waist since i don't need a belt for the sweat pants I'll be wearing. which is all i own right now are sweats but shouldn't be a problem.since it will hang over the side of my leg like a holster. hell having to lift up the robe would be more annoying. but its not a problem cause i won't be eating while I'm there.

anyway so you like the shirt?

yes. i didnt realize you were using sweats with this. i thought you were going to use denims along with it. being sweats. then there should be no real wardrobe conflict then. so this whole thing should and very well can work.

yeah thats why i wear them comfy and no toilet hassles. lol

the visions i was having were giving flashbacks. do you know i STILL hear about it to this day from the old timers that were present that day. total nightmare that day was. lol. wanted to spare ya that one. lol

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
