Very nice. And they even used some distance when shooting. And no rubber involved. Lol. More reliable that way.

i been studying this and i came to the conclusion that if you use solid wood from say 2x4's or 4x8's and car leaf spring cut in half. one could have a hell of a reverse draw crossbow. lol

the more i study this. the more i want to do the design with a leaf spring on each side. i think when i get moved that i will try this one. i already got the large leaf spring i can cut in half and i know someone with a cutting torch to not only cut it in half but even make the notches at the end for the string system. all i would need is the stringing and the solid wood.

Aircraft Grade Wire Rope

its cheap strong and should do nicely for string of your bow. personally I'm gonna go with the kids design at least for my first try. last thing i need is one as beast as yours shattering my face cause i did something wrong. i got quite enough new scars from that dog incident for the year.

i now have the wood i am going to use. i am going to use weather treated oak deck wood. that way it not only has the strength. it will also be treated for dry rot to. and while i was at it. i picked up some compound bow wheels. so when i get it all together. i can use the cord you recommended for the wheels and for the string. i am going to use paracord. that way it has an easy source for string replacement. so here is the list of things i have so far.

1) weather treated wood

2) car leaf spring x2

3) compound bow wheels x2

4) black paracord

all i need now is the aircraft grade wire rope and when i get settled. i will be in business. the wire i got on order now because its not so available here in my town. when i go to string it up. i have a bar clamp to push in the leaf springs in to string it all up with. this fucker will rock when done.
