Description

Zombies will turn around and lumber off in fear when they notice a Montie Gear Y-Shot and 200 rounds of ammo in your hands! Designed for high performance, the Y-Shot is a high tech slingshot capable of shooting a 3/8" bearing at speeds of up to 150 feet per second with great accuracy.

The Y-Shot frame is water jet from a solid piece of 1/2" aluminum sheet, delivering the sturdiest frame possible at a weight that won't slow you down. This, along with the removable side plates, allows for the use of many types of bands. Do not be afraid to equip your Y-Shot slingshot with one of our double bands for an impressive 35lbs pull weight!

Being versatile in a Zombie apocalypse is key. Paracord is braided down the handle to deliver a more comfortable grip, even at maximum pull weight. When in a pinch, the long lengths of paracord can be unwound and used for a multitude of tasks. Having a cord that can do just about anything you ask of it could mean the difference between life or a zombie eating your brains!

The ample ammo, extra bands, and targets allows you to easily become a sure shot, all the while with a backup reserve in case a zombie wanders too close to camp. With reusable shots, it will be hard to run out of ammo, which is the cardinal sin of the Zombie apocalypse. Never be without ammo, ever!

The frame is water jet cut from aluminum for strength, and anodized or powder coated for durability and quality surface finish. Paracord with a 550lb breaking strength is used to wrap the slingshot handle. Heli-coil inserts are used to strengthen the threads for the side plate stainless steel screws, allowing for easy band replacement throughout the life of the slingshot, without worry of stripping the threads. This allows us to proudly claim that the Y-Shot slingshot is Heirloom Quality, Troublesome Gap Tough and Made in America.

Y-Shot Slingshot Features

  • A classic slingshot configuration with a rugged modern twist
  • Fully capable and ready to accept a multitude of Montie Gear attachments to improve your capabilities
  • Frame is lightweight but engineered for strength, using a water jet process to cut the pieces from a sheet of 6061 Aluminum
  • Flat bands provide high performance
  • This slingshot is capable of holding the included high performance flat bands as well as a variety of other bands, including homemade ones (think inner tube if you were in a pinch)
  • Slingshot easily stores in your "go bag" or backpack, or on your waist with our specially designed holster
  • Product is locally made in North Carolina from North Carolina and US made components.

A Slingshot is Born

The journey to make the Y-Shot starts off at a place called ADR Hydrocut in Morrisville, NC. They cut out the body from 1/2" thick aluminum using a water jet. A water jet uses a 50,000 psi stream of water and abrasive to cut the body of the y-shot from the 1/2" thick 6061 aluminum. The water jet is a process that doesn't generate heat so the properties of the billet aluminum are maintained.

We then take the parts and bring them back to our shop where they are tumbled to remove any burrs. We then take the batch of slingshots to Triangle Coatings in Raleigh, NC for powder coat. Powder coating is a process where the parts are given an electrical charge then sprayed with a dry powder that has the opposite charge. The difference in electrical charges makes the powder stick to the metal. The parts go in an oven that melts the powder, resulting in a very robust and consistent finish. This means your Montie Gear slingshot is ready for a lifetime of use.

After, machining the band retention plate mounting holes, a stainless steel heli-coil is inserted into the thread. The heli-coil provides a stainless steel thread instead of just bare aluminum. This means that you get the lightweight aluminum frame but the tough stainless steel threads that allow you to replace bands for decades to come without worry of stripping the threads. This is a step that shows our commitment to your experience while shooting our Y-Shot.

Next step is wrapping the handle with 550 paracord and assembling the band to the frame. We wrap the handles and assemble the bandset at our facility in Spring Creek, NC. The bands are made a few miles away in Asheville, NC. Once this is complete, your Montie Gear Y-Shot slingshot is ready for decades of use. We really mean it when we designed this product for you to pass along to your grand children.

Here are a few videos in which I found about this item...I would actually trust this one a hell of a lot more then some of the others I've seen that have a soul purpose of being prep gear for the Z-poc....

I don't know about killing stinkers with it. But you can feast on rabbit and squirrels great with it. I like the versatility on the type of bands that can be used on it. I will never put my faith in rubber to kill zombies. But to hunt small animals with I can trust it for. Lol

That's one of the few sling shots I've seen that I can trust for taking down small game...Which will be the one main thing I would use it for...As for taking out zombies, only if I'm on the roof of a building and aiming straight down, maybe...Because then I would not only have the force from the band, but also gravity...Which should make a hell of a kill shot...But as for a straight shot, like a firearm would be, naaah...

I agree with you Bro. When the zombie apocalypse is on our door steps we will have to hunt in silence. A slingshot would be a excellent survival/ hunting tool.
I like the versatility of those bands the most. That is a major plus in my book. It allows for most any kind of slingshot band and if need be. The ability to make your own. No other slingshot allows for that.

We just bought our first slingshot.  We bought it to keep racoons off our deck.  Haven't got to try it out, though.

Thanks for posting this piece.  It got me to thinking of other uses.

I have become rather fond of the new slingshot Marksman has out. It's rigged to be used as both slingshot and sling bow. I been having the most fun playing with the sling bow portion.
Yummy are you making Raccoon stew?☆♡☆
I had that once. It is gooood. Lol

It was one of those ideas in which I just happened to stumble upon....(LOL)

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
